Financial Analyst - This is a contract opportunity.This is a hybrid opportunity (3 days in-office) in Baltimore, MD.
About this Position: We’re seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Institutional Equity Division (IED), where you’ll play a key role in producing daily Profit and Loss (P&L) and management reports. In this dynamic role, you will reconcile business unit estimates against the firm’s subledger P&L, provide insightful commentary on revenue drivers, and help substantiate Greek-based attribution. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with financial data, develop a deeper understanding of financial products and risk systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produce and analyze daily P&L and management reporting for businesses within the Institutional Equity Division (IED).
- Reconcile estimated P&L from business units against the firm’s subledger P&L and ensure accuracy.
- Provide commentary and analysis on revenue drivers, identifying key trends and variances.
- Substantiate Greek-based attribution and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clarity and transparency.
- Develop an understanding of the firm’s financial products and strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure efficient data flow between Finance and Risk Systems.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Skills/Requirements:
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Financial Services or a related field.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred). Experience with financial products and basic understanding of financial services. Familiarity with process optimization tools such as Alteryx or Tableau is a plus but not required.
Additional Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
