We are seeking a motivated Financial Controller to join our team and support LGC’s Science for a Safer World mission across China and the APAC region. This role reports to the Global Revenue Controller and works closely with the VP of Commercial China/APAC, based in Singapore.
As Financial Controller, you will lead the operations of our China entity, ensuring accurate reporting, planning, and compliance with both international and local standards. This is a hands-on position within a large, multi-functional division of a global life sciences organisation, offering the opportunity to contribute significantly to strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the full finance and accounting function for our China entity, including monthly financial reporting aligned with IFRS and China GAAP.
- Own the daily financial operations, maintaining and improving financial systems (IFS), and delivering regular performance reviews and insights for both China and APAC.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, while also supporting tax filings and regulatory compliance.
- Provide financial insights to guide business decisions.
- Collaborate closely with external institutions such as banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
- Handle the annual insurance process for the Group.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- Proven experience supporting functions in a sophisticated manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and writing skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
- Advanced Excel Skills is a necessity
- Appetite for some international travel and fast paced commercial culture
- Hybrid work environment (50% office based)
- ACCA or CIMA qualification required
