Job Title: Healthcare .NET Senior Application Developer

Summary:This role leads in providing complex application development services, typically within a project team or application support role. Developers analyze, design, code, test, and implement complex solutions to meet customer requirements adhering to Highmark IT standards and policies. Developers provide general support to maintain complex applications meeting service level agreements, system availability, performance, and quality requirements. May mentor less experienced team members.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Takes a lead role in analyzing, designing, configuring, and modifying inbound and outbound EDI feeds, including X12 EDI (834, 835, 837) and proprietary vendor feeds.
- Develops and maintains Microsoft .NET-based backend systems, including scheduled console applications, web applications, and MSMQ-based messaging applications.
- Collaborates with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements and design quality technical solutions, focusing on innovative solutions for complex needs.
- Provides technical support, including release implementations, on-call and 24x7 support when necessary.
- Works in compliance with Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies, and procedures.
- Actively participates in project teams in various roles (Developer, Technical Lead, Project Manager) based on experience.
- Communicates effectively with team members, customers, partners, and management, including technical walkthroughs, project status reporting, vendor solution enablement, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in software development
- Recent experience in the Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and issue resolution
- Proficiency with .NET framework, C#, and SQL Server
- Experience with messaging-based technologies like MSMQ
- Knowledge of source control solutions (TFVC or Git)
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
