Virtual Mental Health Therapist

The Therapist works in a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing treatment services according to the Discovery Behavioral model.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring patient safety
• Providing milieu interventions
• Leading psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups
• Facilitating clinical assessments
• Conducting therapy sessions
• Completing case management tasks
• Ensuring timely clinical documentation
• Completing documentation requirements
• Establishing therapeutic rapport with patients and families
• Facilitating admission assessments and process
• Understanding role in providing expeditious access to care
• Participating in weekly treatment team meetings and communicating weekly treatment goals
• Completing appropriate therapy sessions weekly
• Facilitating process-oriented and psychoeducation groups
• Facilitating multi-family groups
• Providing utilization reviews
• Assessing patients for suicidality and danger
• May provide additional clinical support
• Communicating with Utilization Review and Business Department
• Completing Utilization Reviews
• Beginning discharge planning on day of admission
• Completing discharge sessions to ensure coping skills, transition plan, and resources are understood
• Ensuring discharge appointments are confirmed
• Communicating with referral sources and outpatient providers
• Facilitating patient transfers to higher level of care
• Actively participating in clinical outreach and program tours
• Effectively managing crises
• Providing support to milieu staff
• Working collaboratively with the entire treatment team
• Providing clinical supervision (as assigned)
• Ensuring supervisees remain current on documentation and case management
