Full-Time Inpatient Clinical Coder

In this role, you will specialize in inpatient facility coding, utilizing your knowledge of DRG to ensure accurate coding and pricing determinations. You'll collaborate with various teams, provide coding expertise, and support retrospective medical claims reviews for inpatient claims.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct retrospective medical claims reviews, focusing on diagnosis and procedural coding with DRG assignment.
• Act as a resource for medical directors, providers, peer reviewers, and claims administration teams.
• Support non-clinical and clinical staff by sharing insights into coding processes and claims review.
• Draft and develop detailed determination letters.
• Serve as the go-to expert for network provider claim review requests.

What We're Looking For:

• Inpatient facility coding expertise not just outpatient or general coding.
• Strong understanding of DRG coding and its role in hospital billing processes.
• Experience with hospital-specific coding workflows, where payments are DRG-dependent rather than fee-schedule based.
• Certifications such as RHIT or RHIA are preferred but not mandatory if relevant experience is evident.
• A keen eye for detail to ensure coding experience is clearly demonstrated.
