Join our talented team as we embark on an uncharted gaming adventure! We're on the lookout for a passionate Technical Game Designer to contribute their skills to our Dungeons & Dragons® PC/Console project.
As a Junior Technical Game Designer, you will support the team in the development and implementation of game systems. You will contribute to the creation of tools, mechanic prototyping, and content troubleshooting in collaboration with the other designers and programmers.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the design team in the integration and implementation of game systems under the supervision of more experienced technical designers.
- Help troubleshoot simple technical issues and flag those that require intervention from programmers or seniors.
- Help update and maintain resource databases and existing systems.
- Work with the designers and programmers in order to understand how features are implemented and to learn best practices.
- Help test, document and improve internal tools according to the needs expressed by the team.
- Participate in the evaluation of certain game mechanics or features by identifying basic problems and proposing solutions, with supervision.
- Contribute to the writing and sharing of training guides or notes to support your colleagues.
- Learn to plan and evaluate your work while keeping in mind time, quality and resource constraints.
- Develop your technical skills gradually in order to better translate the team's needs into concrete solutions.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- 1 to 4 years of experience
- Expertise in various scripting languages, such as C#, Lua, or Visual Scripting
- Strong knowledge of game engines (e.g.: Unity, Unreal, etc.)
- Responsible, Reliable and thorough
- Able to take the initiative
- Strong work ethic
- Good team communication
- Ability to make good decisions based on production phases
