About the Role and TeamWe seek a passionate Design Lead to shape the future of AllTrails. This role reports to a Design Director, and is part of a small, talented team.
You'll work closely with product management, research, engineering, and marketing to create innovative products that elevate the user experience across Discovery, Search, Planning and Community.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead design efforts for a best-in-class product & brand.
- Create beautiful, high-quality user experiences.
- Identify product gaps and opportunities for strategic roadmap additions.
- Lead stakeholder reviews and feedback prioritization.
- Design and ship meaningful work for web, iOS, and Android.
- Collaborate with design, product management, data, and engineering to define and document project scope and requirements.
- Mentor and coach other designers.
- Advocate for user needs.
- Leverage and contribute to our design system.
- Raise design quality standards.
- Contribute to a tight-knit design team culture.
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years of experience researching, designing, and shipping consumer-facing products/features for iOS, Android, and web.
- Passion for turning complex problems into elegant user experiences.
- Strong product design sensibility and craft (UX, visual design, interaction).
- Ability to prioritize and utilize research, metrics, and usability to inform design.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product Management and Engineering.
- Product sensibility to inform project timelines and scope prioritization.
- Desire to share work early and receive constructive feedback.
- Self-motivated and confident in independently designing end-to-end experiences.
- Efficient time management and prioritization.
- Experience designing inclusive products (e.g., international, multi-language, accessible use cases).
- Proficiency in design, prototyping, and research tools (Figma, ProtoPie, Usertesting.com).
- Humble, empathetic, and open-minded.
- Passion for helping people explore the outdoors.

Compensation: $182,500 - $217,500/year.
