Lead Revenue Accountant
Location: Remote (US or India Based)
Ocient is looking to hire a Lead Accountant to combine excellent analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles in order to successfully fulfill key responsibilities, as well as assist in other areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle day-to-day accounting functions, with a primary focus on revenue. Will also be responsible for other areas including but not limited to commissions and General Accounting.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with GAAP and the company’s policies and procedures to ensure that transactions are recorded timely. Ensure that work papers are properly organized and documented.
- Research complex technical accounting issues and prepare drafts of financial accounting memos.
- Support and participate in monthly financial reporting process and prepare monthly close packages for management, including budget to actual variance analysis and account reconciliations.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting to CFO and CEO and assist with special projects.
- Prepare revenue forecasts and work with management team to provide updated financial plan.
- Prepare GAAP compliant annual financial statements and support financial audit.
Required Skills:
- 4+ year of experience with ASC 606, particularly with software companies, either in public accounting or industry
- Booked journal entries or evaluated revenue contracts.
- Experience with Netsuite Advanced Revenue Management system required, experience with Carta preferred
- Experience drafting financial statements, including preparing financial statement footnotes and statements (including balance sheets, income statements, statement of cash flows, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- CPA (or progress toward CPA)
