What Does a Media Planner Do?
Assists in developing, evaluating, and managing digital and non-digital media plans for pharmaceutical clients. Manages RFP process and proposal evaluation. Maintains relationships with external media vendors and internal teams, including some exposure to client presentations.
Maintains rapport with media publishers, and works closely with account, project management, media experts and analytics teams to ensure media schedules are flawless.
Keeps up-to-date on new technologies and opportunities, providing agency perspectives for clients.
Manages campaign creation, insertion orders, system updates and launches, as well as budgets and invoice processes.
Analyzes campaign performance, assists with pacing, and regular campaign reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, media studies, communications or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in media planning and buying.
Online media background.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
Experience with media tools (like Prisma, DCM, DoubleVerify).
Experience with syndicated research tools (e.g., Kantar, MRI) and competitive tracking tools is a plus.
Detail-oriented, strong presentation and cross-functional communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment.
