Full-Time Medical Billing Specialist

Job Description: As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the entire billing process, from claim submission to dispute resolution, and ensuring that our healthcare providers are reimbursed for the services they provided. You will play a critical role in our operations, particularly in dealing with BlueShield's rigorous demands for documentation and clarification. This part-time, remote role offers the flexibility to work independently and the opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and financial health of Tubi Connect Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Submit accurate and timely claims to insurance companies, particularly BlueShield.
• Diligently follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Investigate rejected claims and work towards a resolution.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BlueShield's policies and requirements for medical records and claim submissions.
• Respond to requests from BlueShield for additional information or medical records in a timely and comprehensive manner.
• Engage in dispute resolution efforts, advocating on behalf of healthcare providers to rectify claim denials.
• Document all communication with insurance providers regarding claim and dispute status.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure necessary documentation is obtained for claim processing.
• Prepare and provide detailed reports on billing activity and disputes.
• Stay informed about current billing regulations, compliance requirements, and changes in insurance policies.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, with specific expertise in managing disputes and insurance requests for medical records.
• Proficient in billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Demonstrated communication ability with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to ethical billing practices and compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
