About the RoleThe Project Manager will drive key initiatives within ALU Rwanda, ALCHE Mauritius and ALUSB. This role plans, executes and monitors projects to support strategic objectives. The Project Manager collaborates with department heads and cross-functional teams for on-time, within-budget, high-standard delivery. This role contributes to strategic priority implementation and ALU growth. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, excels in a dynamic educational environment, managing complex projects, building strong stakeholder relationships, and driving results.
Role Responsibilities
- Project Identification and Definition:Collaborates with department heads to identify projects aligned with strategic priorities, conducts needs assessments and feasibility studies to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, develops project proposals.
- Project Planning and Execution:Develops comprehensive project plans (timelines, budgets, resource allocation, risk management strategies), manages project execution, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion, coordinates cross-functional teams, proactively identifies and mitigates project risks and issues.
- Project Monitoring and Reporting: Tracks project progress, develops and maintains project documentation (status reports, meeting minutes, risk logs), communicates project updates to stakeholders, and evaluates project outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management:Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders, manages expectations, facilitates effective decision-making, ensures the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults by adhering to ALU's safeguarding policy.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in an educational environment.
- Proven experience in identifying, planning, executing, and monitoring projects.
- Cross-functional team and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience in developing and managing project budgets.
- Experience in risk management and problem-solving.
