We are seeking an experienced Property Compliance & AppFolio Migration Specialist to manage regulatory compliance and system onboarding for residential buildings in New York City. Responsibilities include overseeing registrations, inspections, tenant notifications, and documentation. The candidate must have experience with migrating data into AppFolio and familiarity with government portals and property management bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migration to AppFolio: Upload spreadsheets and ensure correct migration and onboarding.
- Lease Management: Administer leases end-to-end and track compliance.
- Tenant Relations: Deliver support from move-in to move-out.
- Regulatory Compliance Management: Manage Annual Property Registration with the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) through the Property Registration Online System (PROS).
- File Annual Bed Bug Reports as required by Local Law 69 of 2017, including infestation tracking and required tenant notifications.
- Deliver Bed Bug Disclosure Notices to tenants within 72 hours of confirmed infestations, in compliance with privacy laws and notification standards.
- Housing Program Administration: Coordinate Rent Stabilization Registrations for applicable units with the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR).
- Permits, Certifications, and Inspections: Oversee acquisition and renewal of Certificates of Occupancy (CO) from the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB).
- Vacant Property Oversight: Register vacant properties and ensure annual renewal and maintenance.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate compliance records and serve as liaison between ownership, agencies, and tenants.
- Financial Oversight: Support bookkeeping, review financials, resolve discrepancies, and process invoices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Advanced English skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in property management, especially in New York.
- Knowledge of NYC housing regulations and systems including HPD, DHCR, and PROS, DOB NOW platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with tenant engagement and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Experience with AppFolio.
- Must have a Windows computer (Windows 10 or newer) that is less than 4 years old.
- Two monitors and a high-speed internet.
