The Screening Team is focused on developing and commercializing early cancer detection products.
About the Role: The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives within a designated region.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect, target, and identify early adopter lists for SHIELD adoption.
- Partner with national, regional, and local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Build strong relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers.
- Manage 8-12 direct reports, including recruitment, coaching, and development.
- Manage sales targets and report progress to management.
- Forecast and achieve quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Ensure effective use of sales process and marketing materials.
- Manage open territories and recruit new personnel.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan for the region.
- Collect customer insights, market trends, and competitive data.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers and commercial team members.
- Communicate effectively to ensure appropriate information sharing.
- Demonstrate GHI values: integrity, respect, trust, positivity, and organizational growth understanding.
- Leverage resources (Medical Science Liaisons, Account Executives) to meet customer expectations.
- Lead and participate in regional and national projects.
- Ensure sales force compliance with quality, regulatory, and company policies.
- Meet customer access requirements.
- Travel: Approximately 75% of working time within assigned area, some travel outside for regional/national meetings.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of direct customer-facing sales experience in medical, diagnostic, or med devices.
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience.
- Proven revenue generation in diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology.
- Proven experience leading sales teams promoting products/services to primary care providers.
- Experience in a sales leadership role during product launches.
- Strong skills: influencing, interpersonal, networking, coaching, educating, critical thinking, analytical skills, communication, presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, customer service.
- Knowledge: market, customer, distribution, and product.
- Ability to: handle sensitive information, develop/utilize cross-functional relationships, work independently, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, work with minimal direction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint), Salesforce.com.
Education:
- B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing (ideal).
Salary: $172,000 - $190,000 (US).
