Role Overview We seek a skilled Senior Algorithmic Trading Engineer to join our team. This role involves working directly with the trading desk to analyze, enhance, and develop algorithmic trading strategies. Supporting risk management and financial reporting is also part of the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with traders to build and refine trading strategies.
- Conduct trade analytics to optimize performance.
- Maintain and support risk management systems.
- Provide L1 support to the trading desk and firm products.
Qualifications
- 5+ years Java experience
- 2+ years Python experience
- 2+ years developing algorithmic strategies (benchmarks, proprietary, or FX)
- Strong understanding of PnL calculation and trade analytics
- Experience with PostgreSQL (or similar databases)
- Concurrent application development and multi-threaded programming skills
- Application benchmarking and performance analysis expertise
- TDD/BDD and clean coding practices
- Linux environment comfort
- Proficiency with Git, Jira, Confluence
- Automated build/test/deployment pipeline experience (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
Nice to Have
- Strategy backtesting experience
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Grafana, InfluxDB, Telegraf, Prometheus)
- Cryptocurrency trading experience
- Middleware technologies (NATS, Kafka, Tibco, LBM)
- Cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
- Logging, metrics, and tracing tools (Splunk, ELK, Lightstep)
