We're looking for a Senior Director of Consumer, Product & Technology Communications to lead this important function for the Instacart Communications team and tell stories about the Instacart brand and the innovative features we're building in the Instacart app to transform grocery shopping and make online grocery more affordable, effortless and personalized than ever before.
This role will give you the opportunity to engage deeply with Instacart's VP of Communications and leadership team across product, technology and marketing, while setting the strategy for how we elevate and evangelize product communications, technology, AI developments, data storytelling, and continue to drive our award-winning brand marketing storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the strategy and playbook for a wide range of communications designed to support Instacart's consumer, product and technology objectives.
- Drive alignment between product, marketing, engineering and communications.
- Drive clear narratives about Instacart and our key technology and product innovations.
- Work with internal teams to proactively source new, compelling tech and product initiatives.
- Partner closely with the Marketing team to unearth unique brand stories.
- Manage Instacart's technical and engineering blog.
- Serve as point of contact with press on consumer, product and tech innovation stories.
- Develop and foster relationships with key media and act as an effective company spokesperson.
- Oversee executive visibility campaigns.
- Oversee speaking engagements, media interviews.
- Work cross-functionally with senior leadership and teams.
- Partner with the Marketing team to develop integrated go-to-market programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 17+ years of in-house experience leading consumer or product communications.
- Experience managing a team and developing talent.
- Deep experience working with c-suite executives.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications strategies.
- Prior experience managing media relations.
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing skills.

Compensation:
Base pay ranges for a successful candidate are listed below:
- CA, NY, CT, NJ: $270,000—$300,000 USD
- WA: $259,000—$288,000 USD
- OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $248,000—$276,000 USD
- All other states: $224,000—$249,000 USD
