About the Role
As a Senior UX Researcher on Thumbtack’s New Hiring Experiences team, you'll use creative, iterative research to bring clarity to ambiguity and guide early-stage product direction. You'll play a key role in shaping strategic bets and influencing user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead fast-paced, mixed-method research to inform product strategy and uncover new opportunities.
• Translate ambiguous problems into clear direction through insights and strategic thinking.
• Partner with design, product, and engineering to rapidly test concepts, iterate, and shape MVPs.
• Synthesize findings into compelling stories that influence decisions and inspire innovation.
• Champion user needs across the team.

Required Skills and Experience

• 8-10+ years of experience conducting user research in fast-paced, cross-functional product environments.
• Strong foundation in qualitative methods (mixed methods a plus).
• Track record of shaping product strategy and influencing decisions with actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, tailoring insights to diverse audiences.
• Creative, solutions-oriented mindset and ability to operate independently in ambiguous product spaces.
• Proficiency with research tools (e.g., UserTesting, Qualtrics, Dscout) and comfort working with data science teams.
• Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology or equivalent experience.
