CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior PCG Engineer to join our R&D team.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain procedural content generation systems.
- Translate creative vision into technical requirements.
- Optimize PCG algorithms and tools for performance.
- Troubleshoot content creation workflows.
- Research and evaluate new PCG techniques.
- Offer guidance to early-career team members.
- Participate in code reviews and testing.
- Document technical designs and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5+ years of software development experience with PCG in video games.
- 3+ years of experience developing content creation tools and pipelines.
- Proficiency in C++ and experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Experience with PCG techniques (L-systems, Voronoi diagrams, Perlin noise).
- Understanding of 3D mathematics, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimisation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with PCG tools like Houdini or Bifrost.
- Experience with machine learning or AI techniques for PCG.
- Familiarity with visual scripting tools, e.g. Blueprint in Unreal Engine.
- A passion for video games.
