As a People Business Partner (PBP), you’ll act as a strategic partner to business leaders to drive talent development, help cultivate high-performing teams, offer insights on organizational effectiveness and people strategy, and partner on talent management to optimize both individual and team performance.

  1. Partner with Engineering Leadership to identify and develop talent strategies that align with business goals and foster effective, high-performing teams.
  2. Deliver timely and relevant education on people-related matters to all levels within the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  3. Coach and support managers on performance management, including goal setting, feedback, and employee development, to drive individual and team growth.
  4. Offer guidance in key areas such as performance feedback and process, compensation changes, and rewards and recognition levers.
  5. Collaborate in the continuous development and enhancement of People programs, including recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and learning initiatives.
  6. Work closely with the broader People team to promote and cultivate a high-performance culture where employees are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve business goals through engagement survey action planning.
  7. Help execute core Talent Management processes, including performance calibration, compensation, talent reviews, and succession planning.
  8. Analyze people-related data and trends to provide actionable insights that support business decision-making, proactively addressing potential challenges.
  9. Partner with Engineering Leadership to guide organizational change initiatives, leveraging knowledge of employee needs, managing resistance, and ensuring smooth transitions during times of transformation.
  10. Partner in the development and execution of DEI strategies, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered.
  11. Partner to execute organizational changes.

What We Look For

  • 5+ years in People-related roles with 3+ years experience as a People Business Partner or similar role.
  • Prior experience as a BP supporting the Engineering function, a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience of coaching leaders through performance management and employee relations issues.
  • Intellectual curiosity about people and organizational issues.
  • Experience establishing relationships as a trusted partner to Leadership team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Strong project management, change management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • A doer mentality with the ability to translate vision into action.
  • Previous experience working in fast-paced environments and helping organizations scale.

Pay Grade - JEquity Grade - 4

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range.

Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental, and vision for you and your dependents).

Base pay range per year: $102,000 - $142,000
