CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our studio to work on Project Orion, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. You will contribute to the research and development of in-house tools, and establish/develop processes in Unreal Engine 5 to enable content development teams to meet creative and technical goals.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with art directors, engineers, content designers, and artists to achieve project goals.
- Develop tools and processes enhancing Unreal Engine 5, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and ease of use.
- Research and integrate new Unreal Engine 5 features.
- Ensure high-quality asset integration, maintaining performance and memory efficiency.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in art workflows for a smooth development process.
- Write high-quality, optimized, bug-free code aligned with project goals.
- Document, train, and guide development teams.
- Mentor and guide technical artists, fostering innovation and excellence.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a technical art role within the games industry.
- Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
- Demonstrable experience using and developing tools to aid Unreal content creation (Blueprints, PCG, Editor Utility Widgets, Editor Scripts, Geometry Scripting, Slate Editor Tools).
- Familiarity with procedural content systems.
- Experience in tool development and automation using C++ and/or Python.
- Strong understanding of content performance/memory optimization.
- Experience working with content creation software (Blender, Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter).
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to overcome technical challenges and drive innovation.
- Demonstrated commitment to ownership, goal setting, knowledge exchange, and driving initiatives independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, communicating complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
