CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our studio for Project Orion. You will contribute to the research and development of in-house tools and help establish and develop procedures within Unreal Engine 5.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with art directors, engineers, content designers, and artists.
- Develop tools to enhance Unreal Engine 5, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and ease of use.
- Research and integrate new Unreal Engine 5 features.
- Ensure high-quality asset integration, maintaining performance and memory efficiency.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in art workflows.
- Write optimized, bug-free code aligned with project goals.
- Provide documentation, training, and guidance to development teams.
- Mentor technical artists, fostering innovation and excellence.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a technical art role.
- Excellent Unreal Engine 5 knowledge.
- Demonstrable experience using and developing tools (Blueprints, PCG, Editor Utility Widgets, Editor Scripts, Geometry Scripting, and Slate Editor Tools).
- Familiarity with procedural content systems.
- Experience in tool development and automation using C++ and/or Python.
- Strong understanding of content performance/memory optimization.
- Experience with content creation software (Blender, Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter).
- Ability to overcome technical challenges and drive innovation.
- Strong commitment to ownership, goal setting, knowledge exchange, and independent initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have:
- Solid understanding of GPU workflows (especially using Unreal Engine 5).
- Experience in network automation, batching, and packaged environment setups.
Working Mode:
- Remote-first: Work from home, or within 3 hours of GMT+3.
- Office-first: Work primarily from Warsaw, Wrocław, or Kraków offices (min. 10 days/month).
