We are seeking an experienced, data-driven Sr. Director, Lifecycle Marketing to lead Self's lifecycle marketing strategy, boosting core business and customer KPIs.
Reporting to the VP, Growth Marketing, you will manage and develop a high-performing lifecycle marketing team to enhance customer activation, monetization, and retention for a growing portfolio of financial products.
This role requires strong collaboration with marketing, product, analytics, design, and other teams.
What You Will Do
- Lead the strategy for personalized lifecycle programs (email, push, SMS) to boost core business and customer KPIs.
- Deeply understand customer data to create personalized messaging flows driving business and customer outcomes.
- Build and support a team of mission-driven lifecycle marketers.
- Own engagement, activation, cross-sell, and retention KPIs, aligning with product, analytics, and others to develop roadmaps for business outcomes.
- Partner with product teams to develop strategies and messaging for improved product and feature adoption.
- Define and manage lifecycle marketing team operational efficiency.
- Drive hypothesis-driven testing frameworks and strategies to enhance KPIs, monitoring, and reporting.
- Collaborate with analytics partners to refine measurement and optimization strategies.
- Partner with product marketing, design, and copy to develop top-tier creative content and insights for messaging across the organization.
- Work with marketing operations to improve workflows and utilization of marketing engagement platforms.
- Develop and implement data strategies to enable audience segmentation and personalization within lifecycle programs.
What You Bring
- 12+ years of marketing experience, focused on lifecycle or retention marketing.
- B2C marketing experience in complex customer data environments, ideally within fintechs or large B2C organizations.
- Experience in fast-paced organizations with complex customer journeys.
- Hands-on experience with CRMs and marketing automation platforms (Braze, Responsys, Iterable, etc.), building multi-channel user flows.
- Strong leadership skills, vision articulation, stakeholder rapport building, and team mentorship.
- Expertise in customer segmentation, subscriber management across channels (email, push, SMS), deliverability, and CAN-SPAM compliance.
- HTML and templating language knowledge to guide team messaging builds.
- Experience leading and growing marketing teams.
- Comfort with ambiguity.
- Proficiency in using reports and dashboards to identify trends and inform marketing strategies (Excel, Tableau, etc.).
Salary Range: $186,000-$226,000 annually.
