ABOUT THE ROLE
Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a motivated UI/UX Designer to support our team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security.
As a UX Designer specializing in developer tools, you will leverage your understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices to enhance user experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to design intuitive interfaces that address the unique challenges faced by modern development teams. Your expertise in frontend frameworks and managed infrastructure will be crucial in gathering insights and shaping user-friendly solutions.
Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
What You’ll Do:
Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand the needs and pain points of our developer audience.
Create journey maps, and wireframes to effectively communicate design concepts and solutions.
Design intuitive interfaces for our developer tools, ensuring alignment with best practices in usability and accessibility.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into engaging design specifications.
Utilize your knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices to inform design decisions and improve the overall user experience.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously innovate and enhance our product offerings.
Skills You’ll Bring to Our Team:
At least three years of experience in Product Design, UX, or UI, with a focus on developer tools and SaaS applications for high-growth technology companies.
Proven experience as a UX Designer, preferably within SaaS or developer tools environments.
Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices and their impact on user experience.
Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.A strong portfolio showcasing your design process and outcomes, particularly in SaaS or technical products.
Experience in design iteration and building strong connections with users.
Involvement in products transitioning from 0 to 1, balancing short-term and long-term design objectives.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and chaos in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of owning and driving user experience design projects from research and concept through to implementation.
Exceptional communication skills in oral, written, and visual formats, with the ability to present design concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
