Full-Time UXO Tech II

AECOM is seeking a UXO Technician II for employment on Guam.

In accordance with DDESB TP-18, the Technician II will:

1. Perform reconnaissance and classification of UXO.
2. Identify U.S. and foreign-guided missiles, bombs, and related components, grenades, rockets, landmines, pyrotechnics, explosives, and demolition materials.
3. Locate UXO using magnetometers (military/civilian).
4. Excavate buried UXO manually or mechanically.
5. Perform maintenance on magnetometers.
6. Locate surface UXO visually.
7. Operate vehicles for UXO transport.
8. Prepare UXO safe holding areas.
9. Store UXO and demolition materials.
10. Prepare disposal sites.
11. Prepare firing systems (non-electric, electric, detonating cord).
12. Dispose of UXO by burning or detonation.
13. Operate personnel decontamination stations.
14. Don and doff PPE in contaminated areas.

Requirements:

• High school diploma + 2 years experience (or equivalent)
• Current driver’s license
• AECOM-provided or personal vehicle for company business
• Pre-employment drug screen
• Fitness for Duty Exam (29 CFR 1910.120)
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Current 8-hour refresher training (if applicable)
• Annual company training including 8-hour refresher courses

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a military EOD assistant course, accredited UXO technician training course, or military EOD school (US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia)
• On-the-job training in UXO processes, procedures, and equipment (e.g., geophysical)
• Military EOD school graduates: 1.5 years minimum total EOD and MEC experience.
• Accredited UXO School graduates: 3 years minimum MEC-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) certificate
• Prior MEC-related work experience in Guam
• Guam resident
