This position supports Experian Consumer Services (ECS).
As Vice President of Business Data Strategy, you'll be at the forefront of data, media, and consumer trends, collaborating with the leadership team to define, implement, and scale an overarching business data strategy focused on driving consumer value, engagement, and monetization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute long-term data strategy to optimize data collection, management, and utilization, improving consumer engagement and monetization opportunities.
- Develop a near-term and future vision of data's industry impact and its role as an asset.
- Articulate a data and media strategy, focusing on how digital storefront companies are transforming into media companies to drive engagement and maximize revenue.
- Champion the implementation of tools and platforms to advance data architecture, harmonize data pipelines, and integrate consumer websites/apps, retail media, and lead-generation systems.
- Partner with CRM, Content, and Product teams to leverage first-party data for competitive advantage while ensuring ethical use and compliance.
- Lead data-driven solutions initiatives, from ideation to solutions design and monetization/GTM, partnering with Product, Marketing, and Marketplace.
- Oversee data partnerships budget and acquisition strategy; evaluate data signal needs and execute partnership roadmaps for third-party data assets.
- Develop build, buy, and partner strategies for data acquisition.
- Build partnerships with external data providers, research institutions, and technology firms to expand data capabilities.
- Partner with external media and technology partners and thought leaders to pilot advanced data-driven media solutions and expand data capabilities.
- Lead cross-BU partnership engagements centered around data opportunities.
- Work with Marketing/Media teams to test and co-create data projects with key media players.
- Define and lead the data innovation roadmap, integrating new technologies like AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
- Develop frameworks for data-driven experimentation and monetization, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Expand data monetization capabilities, including predictive analytics, audience segmentation, and insights-driven product enhancements.
- Work with Marketplace and Marketing on GTM approaches for B2B partners and new data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to drive data collection and revenue growth through data-informed media strategies.
- Develop data ethics standards in partnership with legal and compliance teams.
- Develop data capabilities for media applications, such as audience development and model creation.
- Collaborate to develop dashboards for B2B customers providing consumer, category, and merchant insights.
- Partner with marketing to build frameworks for continuous testing and optimization of campaigns and media content.
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to integrate data strategies into product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with Product teams to define user-centric features and applications using data insights for personalization and engagement.
- Collaborate with Technology teams to develop scalable and secure data systems for real-time analytics and future growth.
- Serve as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment on priorities.
- Lead data-specific cross-BU initiatives; establish ownership and accountability across teams.
- Cultivate an ecosystem where data is a shared asset and unlocking synergies across departments.
- Define the organizational model and team needed to execute on data strategies.
- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of data strategists, solutions architects, data partners, and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Serve as a member of ECS leadership, offering data-driven perspectives on strategic decisions and investments.
- Act as a champion for data-driven innovation across the organization.
- Develop internal and external thought leadership and data-specific education plans to upskill the organization.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in data strategy, personalization, analytics, or media, with experience driving data monetization and consumer engagement.
- Strong understanding of data partnerships and acquisitions, including evaluating and integrating third-party data assets.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and ethical data use.
- Strong business acumen.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
