Job Details
This Position is Contingent on Contract Award. International SOS is looking for qualified individuals to be Accredited Financial counselors for The Navy Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP). The FFSP serves active duty members, reserve military personnel and their family members, and other groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management (PFM) classes/workshops (e.g., car buying, budgeting, credit management, debt liquidation, consumer awareness, insurance, savings, investments, retirement planning).
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes/seminars for youths and teens.
- Conduct initial and refresher Command Financial Specialist (CFS) training.
- Assist CFSs in developing General Military Training (GMT) on PFM topics.
- Ensure PFM group education and information services are recorded in required systems.
- Provide individualized financial counseling and assistance to service members and families.
- Assist service members with extended absence financial planning.
- Develop and provide informational financial materials to service members and families.
- Develop new curriculum for basic PFM education, per client request.
- Provide consumer information and assistance handling consumer complaints.
- Document individualized financial counseling, adhering to system guidelines and certification standards.
- Ensure PFM individual counseling and information services are entered into required systems.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Accredited Financial Counselor certification (DoD Instruction 1342.22).
- Strong ethical conduct and up-to-date knowledge in personal finance.
- Ability to prepare and conduct management briefings.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and autonomous working style.
Required Work Experience:
- Demonstrated experience providing PFM services.
- Experience working with family programs, military or civilian social service agencies, or military family members.
- Strong communication, assessment, data management, and advocacy skills.
- Advocacy knowledge, sensitivity, and empathy for diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with FFSMIS system (desired).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay range: $17-$26/hour.
