Job Title: Chief Medical Officer
Position Contingency: Contingent upon contract award.
Licensing and Education Requirements:
- Current, unrestricted US license to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
- Graduation from an approved US or Canadian medical school, with residency or fellowship.
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Current AHA BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications.
- ACLS (American College of Surgeons) preferred.
- DEA license.
- CAC (Common Access Card) or ability to obtain.
Language Requirement: English (reading, writing, speaking).
Citizenship/Visa: US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Relocation: Qatar relocation required.
Passport Requirement: Valid passport required, prior to relocation. Must be maintained during stay.
US DOS Clearance: Required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quality development and clinical governance.
- Chair Medical Executive Committee (MEC), ensuring monthly meetings and minutes.
- Oversee hospital committees, ensuring quarterly reports.
- Conduct monthly peer reviews of medical charts and upload results.
- Maintain current Focus Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
- Provide direction on clinical case management.
- Promote International SOS standard operating procedures and protocols.
- Supervise all healthcare providers.
- Provide strategic direction for medical staff programs.
- Serve as clinical leader, supporting and educating other clinical leaders.
- Ensure operational effectiveness of physician services.
- Report on metrics to measure physician services impact.
- Participate in policy development and approve medical practice procedures.
- Advise on medical equipment suitability and future needs.
- Assist with development of new medical services.
- Review practice management and patient satisfaction surveys.
Consultation and Training:
- Provide medical consultation as needed.
- Develop and implement training and educational programs.
Collaboration and Compliance:
- Participate in site meetings.
- Participate in government audits.
- Report to International SOS TMS Chief Medical Officer.
- Serve as Medical Director for EMS, coordinating with the EMS lead and participating in critical incident reviews.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Minimum of 3 years healthcare leadership and clinical experience (within past 5 years, preferably in remote site).
- Executive-level interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrix environment.
- Experience on a military site, or government subcontractor/prime contractor, preferred.
