Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy, the Clinical Specialist for Therapy provides administrative, clinical, and clerical services to maintain operations accurately and efficiently. Designs, develops, coordinates, and facilitates project execution for a major operating entity.
Establishes project priorities and schedules, aligned with strategic plans and operating objectives. Provides specialized advice and support to management, faculty, and staff in developing and implementing effective systems, procedures, programs, and practices. May oversee operational/business functions for the division.
Enforces compliance with State/Federal Rules, Regulations, and Accreditation standards.
Ensures effective communication to coordinate, prepare, and complete Plans of Care.
Tracks certification and recertification of services; manages transfer, resumption of care, and discharge assessments.
Case manages Oasis patients, including Plan of Care oversight, timely assessments, compliance maintenance, and collaboration with clinicians.
Completes discharges and transfers, ensuring documentation meets compliance requirements and is sent to the PCP within required timeframes.
Communicates issues, concerns, and pertinent information to the Director of Therapy, Operations Manager, and Clinical Supervisors.
Completes medication reconciliation, creating and maintaining accurate medication profiles, obtaining orders as needed. Reviews for duplicate drugs, potential interactions, and adverse reactions; ensuring PCP awareness.
Obtains and documents initial therapy orders, including clarifications. Documents all communication and ensures order compliance.
Obtains and documents verbal orders, facilitating timely services and/or patient/therapy needs.
Notifies, collaborates, and coordinates with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members.
Reports suspected child/adult abuse, neglect, or exploitation to proper authorities.
Collaborates with the Director of Therapy and Operations Manager to identify and resolve issues.
Designs and develops project plans to implement new policies, programs, and initiatives, and operating processes.
Organizes and coordinates project implementation to ensure compliance with strategic plans, goals, and unit objectives, maintaining optimal efficiency.
Establishes and implements short and long-term goals and objectives to ensure projects are completed timely and cost-effectively, and the end product meets requirements.
Researches and analyzes best practices, designs alternative systems and procedures to achieve unit goals.
Develops and presents program reports; maintains program records and statistical information.
Consults and collaborates to facilitate successful implementation of policies, programs, and procedures; ensuring program objective implementation and administration.
Oversees operational/programmatic activities as specified by leadership.
Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Supports company mission, ethics, and goals.
Required Qualifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist.
