Full-Time Collections Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Record journal entries and adjustments.
• Ensure proper documentation for transactions.
• Coordinate with the revenue team on revenue recognition and reconciliation.
• Lead or participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements and reports.
• Analyze financial data and explain variances.
• Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in regulatory filings and compliance.
• Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Implement best practices to streamline workflows.
• Participate in system upgrades.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance team.
• Provide guidance to junior staff.
• Communicate effectively on financial matters.
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of accounting standards and industry best practices.
• Perform analysis and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in manufacturing or technology.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and their relationship to the General Ledger.
• Experience with revenue recognition and cost of goods sold.
• System implementation knowledge.
