Compensation & Benefits Director, North America & LATAM (Spanish/English fluency)
This position requires business fluency in Spanish and English.
The Director, Compensation & Benefits, is one of the regional leaders in the company’s global compensation and benefits (C&B) team, responsible for the Americas region (USA, Canada, México, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panamá, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay).
This role will lead the region’s strategy and implementation of C&B initiatives, manage the regional C&B team, and provide day-to-day support and expertise to HRBPs, market HR partners, and management. The Director also acts as the regional subject matter expert within the broader Compensation & Benefits team. Note: For US/Canada the role leads only Compensation as we have a separate dedicated North America Benefits team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Team Management: Leads and develops the regional compensation and benefits team, including overseeing and supporting the team’s deliverables, conducting goal setting and performance appraisal processes, and coaching employees.
- Plan Design and Administration: Benchmarks, assesses, develops, and implements regional compensation and benefits plans and programs tailored to the Latin American market. Works closely with the SVP, Compensation and Benefits on annual renewals and strategy for the region.
- Compensation Processes: Manages all aspects of corporate compensation programs on a regional level. Develops recommendations for job leveling within the global job architecture and compensation adjustments based on benchmarks and market trends. Contributes to the execution of the annual salary review process and annual incentive plan processes in partnership with other C&B leaders, including budgeting, communication, implementation, change management, reporting, and data analysis.
- Standardization and Harmonization: Works with the global C&B team and other regional leads to identify and determine where standard approaches should be used globally and where local solutions are necessary. Ensures that there is clear documentation and rationale for decisions and that local HR partners understand the compensation and benefits programs and processes for the region. Contributes to and participates in the global Compensation & Benefits harmonization efforts.
- Project Management: Manages projects as needed on a global or regional level and participates in global projects as a key contributor. Manages project plans, resources, deliverables, and communications to ensure projects are executed successfully.
- Collaboration: Develops strong internal relationships within HR, Legal, Finance, Payroll, and other teams. Collaborates with team members to effectively align and communicate compensation and benefit programs to the organization. Works with regional HR Leaders on change management strategy to implement C&B initiatives following global definitions but supporting with regional knowledge and cooperation.
- Communications: Prepares and delivers presentations for compensation and benefit plans. Takes global C&B presentations and translates them for a Spanish-speaking workforce and presents to the local workforce. Works with key stakeholders to support the design and delivery of rewards communications initiatives to communicate information to employees in a clear, effective, and timely manner.
- Vendor Management: Establishes partnerships with third-party providers, insurers, consultants, and other vendors. Ensures that third-party vendors which support C&B deliver on their requirements.
- Compliance: Maintains compliance and required reporting for regional and country laws and regulations specific to Latin America.
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Supports due diligence and cost analysis for potential acquisitions which impact the region. Crafts retention strategies and supports integration activities for M&A transactions.
- Process Improvement: Serves as subject matter expert for initiatives to implement new or updated C&B processes, including Workday enhancements, to improve the experience and outcomes for employees and the team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in the development, design, implementation, management, and administration of compensation and benefits programs at a corporate level and in an international environment.
- 3+ years of leadership experience, including managing a team of direct reports, overseeing an operational budget, and effectively partnering with business leaders and executives.
- Strong understanding of international, regional, and country-specific labor laws and regulations pertaining to compensation and benefits design and administration, with a focus on Latin America.
- Significant experience developing and conducting presentations.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and graphs and charts.
- Proficient in written and oral English and Spanish.
- Proficient in MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding and experience using HRIS systems, preferably Workday.

Salary range
$126,500 - $180,500. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
