Core Expectations: Ensure accounting controls according to GAAP, deferred revenue, journal entries, month-end and year-end close, bank reconciliation, annual audit process, sales taxes, asset depreciation schedules, etc. Prepare and communicate a story with an analysis of the monthly financials. Optimize processes to maintain the integrity of data and drive both efficiency and accuracy. Implement strong accounting policies and procedures across all Accounting Team functions. Manage revenue and cost accruals. Track and reconcile GL accounts and assist in other reconciliations as needed. Prepare routine and complex journal entries, analyze and compile reporting for accounting activity. Learn and execute the reporting process for partner, merchant, and contract payouts. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including sales and payroll taxes. Lead, mentor, and inspire team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Be a part of and collaborate with team members to develop, implement, or improve processes. Regularly report on process performance with key stakeholders and provide and gather feedback regularly. Demonstrate the ability to think through a problem with a deep understanding of the business. Be able to evaluate information both quantitatively and from a value perspective and then be able to translate that into something that can be understood easily by others.
