Full-Time Director, California Regulatory Affairs (Hybrid Remote)

• Managing Participation: Overseeing the ISO’s involvement with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Energy Commission (CEC).
• Communication: Communicating ISO positions to agency policy makers and representing the ISO in public forums.
• Coordination: Ensuring regular interaction between the ISO and state regulatory agencies.
• Policy Development: Developing ISO policy positions and coordinating with various internal divisions.
• Monitoring: Actively participating in agency proceedings and internal processes with state regulatory impact.
• Education: Educating state regulators on the ISO’s role and commitment to state energy and environmental goals.
• Relationship Building: Building coalitions to advance ISO objectives and maintaining relationships with relevant parties.
• Team Management: Managing the California Regulatory Affairs team, providing guidance, and handling staff development.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Policy Administration, Business, Law, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Ten+ years of related experience, including five+ years at a senior advisor or manager level.
• Experience managing relationships with government/regulatory agencies in the electric utility industry.
• Knowledge of electric power systems and markets.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
