Job Details
Director of Compensation & Benefits is responsible for the strategic leadership of all aspects of Compensation, Benefits, and Equity Plans, including management, design, administration, communication, compliance, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes compensation strategies for international and US locations, ensuring alignment with culture and business goals.
- Designs and develops compensation programs (base salary, incentives, executive compensation, sales commissions).
- Evaluates positions, applies job classifications, assigns levels and salary ranges.
- Leads annual market surveys and recommends salary plan changes.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline compensation processes.
- Ensures benefits plans are cost-effective, competitive, and meet employee needs.
- Administers benefits plans (health & welfare, qualified plans, life insurance, disability).
- Leads 401(k) committee meetings, presents new programs, reviews existing programs.
- Manages profit-sharing, 401(k) contributions/withdrawals, and QDROs.
- Directs open enrollment processes, including vendor selection and negotiation.
- Develops employee education programs on benefits.
- Maintains relationships with external providers.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws (ERISA, Health Care Reform, HIPAA).
- Manages audit processes and nondiscrimination testing.
- Resolves administrative and contractual issues.
- Evaluates and recommends modifications to existing benefits plans.
- Manages annual benefits plan budget and monthly financial statements.
- Administers equity compensation plans.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of overall HR experience with 10+ years in Benefits/Compensation.
- Compensation Committee of the Board experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state legislation.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and financial skills.
- Ability to collaborate across the organization.
- Acquisition/divestiture experience (preferred)
- International experience in the UK, Australia, Canada, China (preferred)
- SaaS-based company experience (preferred)
- Certifications like CCP or CEBS (preferred)
Education: Bachelor's degree in HR (required); advanced degree or Finance degree (preferred).
Salary Range: $160,300 - $240,000 (based on market data)
