Director, Global Payroll
Job Summary: Oversees global payroll operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll for employees across various regions. Requires expertise in international payroll systems, local tax regulations, and cross-border compliance. Works closely with HR, finance, and other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage global payroll function across multiple countries.
- Ensure payroll processing is accurate and on time, complying with local laws.
- Oversee payroll processing for diverse employee groups.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for payroll data, tax filings, benefits, and deductions.
- Stay updated on international payroll and tax laws.
- Partner with HR to improve payroll processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external payroll providers.
- Review and approve payroll reports and filings.
- Conduct regular audits and resolve discrepancies.
- Lead and mentor a team of payroll professionals.
- Provide strategic insights on global payroll practices to senior management.
- Handle employee payroll inquiries.
- Prepare reports for leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Manage year-end reporting for tax filings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in global payroll management.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax compliance, and benefits administration.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with global HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and government reporting.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
- Experience with large, multinational companies or complex payroll operations.
- Familiarity with payroll management software.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives.
