The Employee Relations & Compliance Manager is responsible for fostering a positive workplace environment by addressing employee concerns, managing conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
This role plays a critical part in promoting a culture of fairness, respect, and accountability within the organization.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a key point of contact for employees regarding workplace issues, including conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
- Facilitate open communication and provide guidance on employee concerns.
Compliance Management:
- Ensure the organization adheres to all applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Develop and implement compliance programs to mitigate risk.
Policy Development:
- Collaborate with HR leadership to create, update, and communicate employee-related policies and procedures that reflect best practices and legal requirements.
Training & Education:
- Design and deliver training programs for management and staff on employee relations, compliance issues, and conflict resolution strategies.
Investigations:
- Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, ensuring fair and impartial processes.
- Document findings and recommend appropriate actions.
Reporting & Metrics:
- Track and analyze employee relations metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on compliance and employee relations activities.
Change Management:
- Support organizational change initiatives by advising on employee impact and engagement strategies.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other HR functions, including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Benefits, to ensure a holistic approach to employee relations and compliance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in employee relations, compliance, or human resources management, with a strong understanding of labor laws and regulations.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
