We're looking for a forward-thinking Finance Talent Expert to join the Gartner Finance Practice. You have the opportunity to advise senior Finance leaders - including CFOs, FP&A leaders, Controllers, Finance Transformation leaders and their teams - on their most pressing talent-related challenges and questions. If you've spent a good part of your career working in corporate finance teams and have exposure to how finance leaders are getting the most from their people, then this expert role is for you.
The successful candidate will be ready to and energized by discussing and researching topics including:
- Building and executing a talent strategy for the Finance function
- Developing and upskilling Finance talent, including traditional finance skills, digital skills and soft skills
- Attracting talent to the Finance function with a strong employment value proposition and understanding of the labor market
- Engaging and retaining Finance talent
- Identifying what skills, knowledge and experiences successful Finance talent will need in the future
What you'll do
You will create and deliver must-have insights for CFOs and their leadership teams through both published research and client interaction, helping them solve challenges that lead to better performance. Specifically, you have the opportunity to:
- Create unique, defensible and consumable content that directly addresses the critical talent priorities and challenges of senior finance leaders.
- Deliver high quality, actionable advice through daily virtual discussions with finance leaders.
- Create and deliver presentation materials at high-profile Gartner events and client briefings.
- Collaborate with Gartner research leaders to identify what new Finance Talent content will make the biggest impact on Finance leaders
- Support business growth and client engagement strategies by partnering with Gartner's commercial organization to create long-term value for both clients and Gartner.
- Build your personal brand as an expert in Finance talent.
- Serve as a leading authority on Finance talent topics.
- Stay ahead of trends impacting Finance talent by synthesizing and developing your own ideas on the latest research created by Gartner and its competitors.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of experience in finance, ideally within a finance transformation team, controlling/accounting or FP&A.
- Alternatively, you may have experience as an HR business partner or L&D partner supporting Finance or providing consulting support on talent issues to finance leaders.
- Subject matter expertise in a broad range of talent management practices, priorities and challenges specific to Finance functions
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred
- Ability to conduct occasional travel; though primarily a virtual role, Analysts occasionally have opportunities for domestic and international travel
