The Head of Telehealth - Doctors is responsible for leading a contingent of 80-100 doctors and ~10 nurses. This role involves evolving clinical solutions and experience, ensuring workforce availability and engagement, identifying and building tech controls, ensuring patient and prescriber safety, and staying updated on policy and regulation.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the telehealth doctor team.
- Develop and implement clinical solutions to enhance patient and prescriber experience.
- Ensure high-quality care through evidence-based practices.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
- Promote staff empowerment and growth through mentorship and professional development.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and manage team performance.
- Set team OKRs and KPIs, monitor metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
Workforce Management:
- Develop strategies to attract, retain, and motivate doctors and nurses.
- Collaborate with operations on workforce planning and scheduling.
- Develop strategies to promote high engagement and availability to meet consult demands.
- Manage doctor engagement, performance, and resolve clinical escalations.
Tech Controls and Innovation:
- Identify and build out technological controls for telehealth services.
- Work with IT to integrate new technologies and improve existing systems.
- Ensure tech solutions align with clinical needs and regulatory requirements.
Patient and Prescriber Safety:
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure patient and prescriber safety.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve safety and quality of care.
Policy and Regulation:
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare policy and regulations.
- Ensure the telehealth service complies with all relevant laws and guidelines.
- Work with compliance and legal teams to address regulatory challenges.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with Medical Director, Head of Operations, Head of Nursing, Head of Compliance, Head of Growth, and Legal.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Performance Management:
- Develop and monitor performance metrics for the team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.
- Implement strategies to improve performance and adherence to standards.
Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Deliver on individual and departmental OKR and KPI goals.
- Utilize data to assess and identify blockers affecting objectives and KPIs.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD/MBBS)
- At least 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience
- 8 years experience in business, strategy, operations and/or healthcare management.
- Proven expertise in healthtech, telehealth or remote healthcare settings (preferred)
- Experience managing large teams and complex operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and risk/compliance frameworks
