This role is ideal for an early career health and safety professional eager to step into a more influential organisational position, gaining valuable experience before moving into management. It’s also suited to someone with a strong technical background seeking improved work-life balance.
This opportunity offers a predominantly home-based role, focusing on coordination, advisory work, and driving positive change. Whether the past few years have been spent on the road auditing or inspecting, you can enjoy flexibility.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to build on core health and safety principles:
- investigating incidents,
- shaping positive behavioural and procedural changes,
- conducting thorough risk assessments,
- managing safety metrics.
Technical expertise is crucial, providing the chance to tackle challenging questions, deliver clear and actionable advice, and lead the charge for evidence-based solutions that pave the way for safer, smarter practices. This is a hands-on role where every contribution counts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring safety metrics are on track
- Supporting timely follow-ups
- Maintaining oversight of live issues
To succeed in this role you must have:
- A solid grasp of UK health and safety legislation and compliance frameworks (Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, RIDDOR, and CQC requirements)
- Hands-on experience with incident investigations, risk assessments, and data analysis
- Exceptional organizational abilities, particularly in maintaining centralised document repositories
- Strong communication skills, confident in presenting data and reports to senior management
- Proficiency in IT, particularly with Excel, and ability to transform data into clear, concise, and visually engaging formats.
At PortmanDentex, you’ll be part of an inclusive, collaborative team environment where your development and potential are encouraged. We offer a fully remote or hybrid working model (1-2 days a week in the office).
Benefits include:
- Competitive salary
- Bonus scheme
- 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
- Enhanced maternity/paternity leave
- Life assurance and contributory pension scheme
- Health and Wellbeing benefits including dental check-ups and counselling
