Full-Time Media Director

WHAT DOES A MEDIA DIRECTOR DO?The Media Director provides strategic guidance and oversight of day-to-day operations for a portfolio of media accounts. They oversee media planning and buying, and serve as the client's point of contact.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the media lead for oncology business, managing multiple brands and clients.
• Lead development of strategic media programs for DTC and HCP campaigns.
• Deep understanding of client operations, goals, and challenges.
• Apply media knowledge to solve client business challenges and drive ROI.
• Mobilize team(s) to initiate and activate work streams.
• Collaborate with senior-level SMEs and Account teams.
• Oversee communication with Account and client contacts.
• Manage high-profile vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
• Identify organic growth opportunities for accounts.
• Manage finances and staff planning.
• Provide career pathing, coaching, and development for direct reports.
• Ensure timely completion of media campaign tasks.
• Manage up effectively to VP (where applicable).
• Identify and resolve issues with staff and team structure.
• Manage team resources and maximize billability.
• Lead new business opportunities.
• Stay abreast of media industry trends and technology solutions.
• Assist with internal POVs and case study write-ups.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of media account management experience.
• Expertise in digital and non-digital media channels, HCP and DTC target audiences.
• Client resource for all things media.
• Financial management/staff planning experience.
• Analysis and optimization of media campaigns.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Staff management experience, including maximizing billability.
• PowerPoint and Excel proficiency.
• Distilling complex media ideas for non-media audiences.
• Cross-channel media strategy, planning, and buying experience.
• Contract negotiation experience.
• Experience with syndicated 3rd party research tools.
• Excellent meeting leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Strategic thinking and ongoing coaching/feedback.
• Collaboration and team player skills.
• Presentation skills and ad-hoc question handling.
• Innovative and critical thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple details and projects.
• Strong relationship building with team, agency partners, and vendors.
