Full-Time H&S Manager

At JDP, we prioritize Health & Safety. We aim for our colleagues to arrive, work, and leave home safely every time. As we grow, we need an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team. This role allows you to shape our future. We already have a strong H&S culture and processes in place.

This role is based at our branch in Longtown, near Carlisle, with hybrid working options. If you are not in the area but are interested, we encourage you to apply. We can consider candidates from across mainland UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safety coaching, advice, and support to operations and management.
• Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and influence outcomes.
• Motivate colleagues and promote excellent safety behaviours.
• Lead by example and uphold high safety standards.
• Manage risk assessments, accident/incident investigations, and sharing of best practices.
• Identify areas for improvement and develop/implement improvement plans.
• Maintain competency in H&S legislation and best practices for compliance.
• Provide training, technical expertise, and guidance to operational teams.
• Analyze performance trends to develop safety improvement plans.
• Participate in the Dyka H&S network, sharing ideas and implementing plans.
• Oversee ISO9001 auditing and Quality Assurance processes.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Self-starter with strong communication and engagement skills.
• Health & Safety qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Practical experience in accident/incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessment review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Thorough and detail-oriented.
• Experience in an operational environment (factory or branches) is advantageous.
