Job Title: Human Resources & Payroll Generalist
Reports to: Director of Business Operations
Job Characteristics: Responsible for administering the daily operations of the Human Resources department while ensuring the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll. Key point of contact for employees, addressing questions and concerns while fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
Primary Functions:
- Human Resources: Oversee HR information management, manage talent acquisition, prepare job descriptions, support compensation decisions, coordinate training, act as the primary point of contact for HR and payroll needs, administer benefits programs, ensure compliance with employment laws, coordinate government filings, maintain employee records, develop company-wide communications, and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Payroll: Administer monthly payroll processing, maintain payroll records, reconcile payroll data, prepare payroll reports, monitor compliance with wage and hour laws, and serve as the primary liaison with the HRIS representative.
Knowledge of:
- Federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Human Resources best practices.
- Payroll administration and reporting requirements.
- HRIS and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
Ability to:
- Develop and implement HR policies.
- Accurately administer payroll and benefits.
- Manage employee relations matters.
- Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, and training efforts.
- Communicate HR and payroll information clearly.
Additional Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational and time management skills, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
Physical Requirements: This job requires sitting or standing at a workstation for most of the day. Occasional travel may be required.
