We are seeking an energetic and versatile Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Industrial Hygienist/Environmental Consultant/Safety Specialist to join our Alpharetta Georgia location.
The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of team management, environmental science principles, industrial hygiene, and occupational safety.
The work requires professional knowledge of environmental science, industrial hygiene and occupational safety principles, methods and techniques. Understanding and ability to utilize pertinent aspects of chemistry, biological sciences and public health relating to environmental remediation projects involving lead, asbestos, and mold.
Ability to recognize and evaluate health hazards associated with catastrophic property loss caused by storms, flooding, fire.
Job Responsibilities
Environmental Consulting
- Apply professional environmental science competence with specialized knowledge of chemistry, industrial hygiene and biological science.
- Perform as a team leader to resolve client EH&S concerns and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Willing and able to travel by air, sea and land at short notice to reach project locations.
- Obtain and maintain licenses in multiple states for mold, lead and asbestos assessments, and national certifications.
- Performs work as a team member under the direction of a Project Manager.
- Performs duties associated with project management as required.
- Coordinates staffing needs and provides leadership on multiple projects.
- Develops and consistently grows clientele and client relationships.
- Assesses equipment needs and makes recommendations for equipment purchases.
- Prepares studies and reports following standard format and procedures.
- Investigate, measure and evaluate environmental, health and safety conditions at client locations and carrying out relevant research, development, planning to complete comprehensive reports for review by senior staff.
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Must be able to sit for long period of time
- Must be comfortable to work in a remote and/or hybrid environment
- Must be flexible to work outside of the 8:00am – 5:00pm business hours if needed
- Must be flexible to travel
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science/Geology/Engineering/Industrial Hygiene with a minimum of three (3) to seven (7) years EH&S experience. Multiple relevant professional certifications may permit waiving some experience requirements.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- TWIC card eligible
- 40 Hr. HAZWOPER and 8 Hour Refresher Certificate is preferred
- Asbestos Supervisor/Inspector licenses and Project Designer in multiple states is preferred
- Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor/Lead Project Designer licenses in multiple states is preferred
- Mold Assessment Consultant licenses in Florida, Texas and New York is preferred
- National certifications in the area of specialty is preferred
