Full-Time International Senior Mental Health Advisor

EDC's global health and crisis, conflict and violence technical teams are advancing mental health and well-being strategies.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead development, piloting, implementation, and scaling of mental health initiatives.
• Co-lead thought leadership efforts.
• Develop strategies for raising EDC's profile in mental health.
• Leverage networks for funding and collaboration.
• Co-design and co-lead an externally-facing campaign.
• Foster partnerships with implementers, donors, and influencers.
• Represent EDC in key forums, presenting on mental health work.
• Continue piloting and refining mental health interventions.
• Provide technical assistance to projects.
• Support business development for mental health programming.
• Serve as an ambassador for mental health initiatives internally.
• Contribute to professional development for EDC staff.

• Adherence to EDC policies & procedures.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree in mental health; PhD preferred.
• 7-10 years experience (with Master's); 5 years supervisory/project management or program development experience.
• 5-7 years experience (with PhD).
• Experience in clinical practice.
• Experience designing and conducting mental health research.
• International experience in lower- and middle-income countries.
• Experience working in crisis- and conflict-affected settings.
• Experience with evidence-based practices (CBT, CPT, DBT, etc.).
• Training experience on mental health concepts.
• Trauma-informed approaches knowledge and use.

Language:

• Proficiency in English; French or other languages are an advantage.

Other:

• Occasional travel to crisis- and conflict-affected locations.
• Periodic travel to EDC office locations.
