Job Details
Medical Editor ensures the overall editorial quality of communications.
Responsibilities:
- Fact-checking, substantive editing, and proofreading promotional materials (e.g., presentations, brochures, selling tools).
- Annotating and cross-referencing materials for client review.
- Attending client review meetings and incorporating changes.
- Checking layouts and digital programs for accuracy.
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of reference lists.
- Serving as a subject-matter expert on client and AMA style, grammar, and usage.
- Creating, maintaining, and adhering to project-specific style guides.
- Collaborating with Medical Services and Creative Services.
- Determining and communicating needs for copyright permissions.
- Assisting colleagues with problem-solving.
- Attending product status meetings.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with grammar, medical writing style guidelines (e.g., AMA Manual of Style), and regulations.
- Understanding of scientific concepts.
- Expert knowledge of proofreading marks.
- Ability to master content management systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (science or English preferred).
- 3-5 years' pharmaceutical/medical editing experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years' experience in a medical communications agency.
- Familiarity with agency workflows and electronic document review systems.
Working Conditions:
