Full-Time Medical Writing Manager

The Medical Writing Manager, Publications will play a crucial role in the development, tracking, and communication of scientific and clinical research findings related to precision oncology research.

This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams (MSL team, researchers, clinicians, external authors, etc.) to produce high-quality, accurate, and compliant documentation, including research manuscripts, abstracts, clinical study reports, and other scientific communications.

1. Write, edit, and review scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, presentations, and other documents for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at scientific conferences.
2. Conduct thorough literature reviews to support research projects and clinical studies.
3. Collaborate with team members (MSLs, researchers, clinicians, statisticians, external authors) to ensure accuracy and clarity of scientific content.
4. Ensure all documents comply with regulatory guidelines, ethical standards, and company policies.
5. Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
6. Participate in quality control and review processes.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a university degree and 8+ years of related experience; 6 years + Master’s degree; 3 years + PhD; or PharmD/MD.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills within Oncology and/or Diagnostics field.
• Strong understanding of scientific research methodologies and clinical trial processes.
• Proficiency in literature search databases and reference management software.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Understanding of journal requirements for publications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Experience in diagnostics or oncology research.
• Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
• Experience with medical writing software and tools.

Work Model: Hybrid

Salary: $157,800 - $213,030 (US, full-time)

Additional Details:

• US employees within 50 miles of a Guardant facility are required onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
• Additional factors like work location, skills, and experience influence pay.
• Ability to lift office supplies and use office equipment required.
• Majority of work performed in a desk/office environment, but there may be potential exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory.
