Full-Time Medical Strategy Director

The Medical Strategy Director will drive and execute Medical Affairs strategy across product development and commercial teams. This role shapes and oversees key medical initiatives, manages cross-functional relationships, and provides medical leadership on oncology product development and positioning.

Collaborates with senior management and stakeholders to align clinical, commercial, and medical objectives.

Key responsibilities include leading medical initiatives, acting as the primary medical strategy director for a disease area or product, and developing the scientific narrative for products.

Also includes:

• Managing medical advisory board strategy
• Providing expert opinions to influence medical strategy
• Gathering and disseminating customer feedback
• Guiding stakeholders in interpreting clinical data
• Coordinating with Research and Medical Communications teams
• Serving as the primary point of contact for urgent medical affairs inquiries
• Collaborating with product directors, management, and marketing
• Building relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs)

Requirements typically include a university degree and 10+ years experience, or a Master's degree and 10+ years, or a PhD and 8+ years, or a PharmD/MD and 5+ years.

Extensive experience in Medical Affairs, particularly in oncology, genomic diagnostics, and molecular biology.

Proven expertise in oncology, functional genomics, and molecular biology, with a deep understanding of clinical development and medical strategy.

Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills required.

Hybrid work model involves specified in-person days for U.S. employees within 50 miles of a Guardant facility.

Salary range: $169,600 - $228,900 (USD).
