ISN is seeking Medical Subject Matter Experts to support DHS ICE ERO Directorate Division. Experts will:
- Review healthcare facilities for compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and ICE detention standards.
- Assess ICE detention facilities, evaluating and preparing detailed reports on medical issues.
- Provide recommendations to address non-compliance issues.
- Offer real-time technical assistance and guidance to facility personnel.
- Evaluate compliance with standards related to medical care, sexual assault prevention, and intervention.
- Consult in areas like adult psychiatry, female health, and underserved populations.
- Provide written ratings/narrative information.
- Prepare reports for quality review programs and medical care.
- Assist in analyzing data reports to identify improvement areas.
- Assist with training, including medical reviews and PBNDS/NDS standards.
Clearance and Requirements:
- Active DHS clearance or ability to obtain one.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to travel nationwide for multiple-day investigations.
- Ability to work efficiently with deployed teams.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years healthcare experience in secure custodial settings (prisoners/detainees).
- 5 years specialized experience in health care unit administration for detained populations.
- 2+ years specialized experience inspecting detention facilities, reviewing records, and identifying policy violations.
- 2+ years specialized experience conducting interviews regarding medical records to assess compliance.
- 5 years general experience in administering a healthcare unit in a detention facility (can substitute for 2 years of specialized experience).
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience collecting and monitoring data trends for risk reduction.
- Experience serving as a subject matter expert in custodial mental health programs.
- Experience producing written reports evaluating detention standards, systems, and actions.
- Ability to review large amounts of evidence, provide briefings/reports/training under tight deadlines.
Education Requirements:
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN), Physician's Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Medical Doctor (MD).
