PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Mid-Level Giving Officer will play a crucial role in managing and growing a portfolio of high-capacity mid-level donors and implementing one-to-some strategies with additional mid-level donors. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to retain and engage current mid-level donors and transition mid-level donors to major donor status.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of high-capacity mid-level donors, focusing on personalized engagement and stewardship to increase retention and upgrade donors into higher giving levels. Conduct direct solicitations to all mid-level donors in portfolio.
- Prospecting: Qualify new high-capacity mid-level prospects for assignment to major donor portfolios.
- Donor Upgrades: Develop and execute strategies to upgrade mid-level donors to major donor status by deploying creative strategies for engagement, leveraging existing content and offerings, and developing personalized communications including the promotion of non-cash giving.
- Donor Retention: Collaborate across teams to implement personalized outreach and stewardship plans to retain current mid-level donors and reduce lapsed donors.
- Multi-Channel Engagement: Utilize various communication channels, including email, SMS, personalized cards, telemarketing, video messaging, and virtual/in-person events, to engage donors based on their preferences.
- Data Analysis: Use data models and analytics tools to identify opportunities for donor engagement, touchpoint planning and pipeline development.
- Reporting: Coordinate with vendors and data platform managers to track and report on key performance metrics related to donor engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
- Donor Maintenance: Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of routine tasks such as gift acknowledgements, solicitation and cultivation mailings, event invitations, CRM data entry, and database coding of gifts.

EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCIES
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field, ideally in the areas of Mid-Level and/or Major Donors and/or Marketing.
- Proven track record of managing donor portfolios, personally soliciting and closing gifts, and achieving fundraising goals.
- Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with donors.
- Excellent listening and motivational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, and experience with multi-channel fundraising strategies and tools.
- Basic understanding of prospect research tools and methodology.
- Analytical skills to interpret donor data and develop targeted engagement strategies.
- Strong understanding of donor motivations and giving patterns.
- Proficiency in donor database management and CRM systems.
- Passion for the organization's mission with the ability to articulate it coherently to donors, and commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
