About the RoleWe’re seeking a Payroll & HR Specialist to join our HR team. This position blends payroll ownership with HR generalist responsibilities, providing hands-on support across the full HR lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll: Manage end-to-end payroll for a multi-state U.S. and Canadian remote workforce.
- Review and validate timesheets.
- Conduct regular audits of timekeeping and payroll data.
- Set up, maintain, and reconcile payroll tax accounts.
- Maintain accurate payroll records.
- Manage the company's worker's compensation policy.
- HR Generalist & Systems Support: Serve as administrator for HRIS and other HR technology platforms.
- Maintain the company’s virtual stable mailbox.
- Support HR programs, including onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance training.
- Act as a resource for employee questions.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Contribute to HR projects focused on process improvement.
- Adapt to evolving needs of a growing HR team.
- 3+ years of combined payroll and HR generalist experience.
- Experience with Canada payroll, a plus
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and employment laws.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Paylocity, strongly preferred).
- Solid background in HR functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
