Payroll Implementation Manager
Lead the successful implementation of clients on our global payroll system. Have a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and guide Deel's clients through the onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Setup: Work with onboarding team and clients on kick-off meetings, create/maintain project plans for US client roll-outs.
- Client & Project Management: Support project review calls, manage scope and schedule changes; work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Payroll Process Requirements: Define client payroll processes, manage payroll calendars.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed project plans, status reports, and process documentation.
- System Setup: Configure interfaces, reports, and systems for parallel/live payroll.
- Go-live Transition: Client sign-off, document client needs and processes.
- Reporting: Generate reports for analyzing, auditing, and reconciling payroll data.
- Communication: Be point of contact for all project matters. Report project status to senior leadership, escalating issues appropriately. Attend weekly client calls, identify risks and dependencies.
- Project Management: Lead end-to-end implementation, ensuring on-time/on-budget delivery.
- Client Management: Gather client requirements, guide them through onboarding and payroll aspects professionally.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with HR, Finance, etc., to gather payroll requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to local tax/labor laws.
- Data Migration: Oversee data migration from legacy systems.
- Testing: Develop/execute testing plans for system issues.
- Change Management: Implement strategies for employee and HR team transitions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field (Master's a plus)
- Proven experience in global payroll implementation (5 years)
- Payroll operations experience (5 years)
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance
- Experience with various payroll systems
- Client-facing project management experience
- Project management certification (PMP, etc. - a plus)
- Excellent communication/collaboration skills
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
