SummaryThe role supports daily payroll services for Canada, processing tasks according to established methods, regulations, service-level agreements (SLAs), and procedures. It also involves administering and processing payroll and HR systems activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform simple to complex payroll tasks following procedures, strategies, and methodologies.
- Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of payroll processing, salary disbursement, overpayment recovery, leave management, and reporting, adhering to regulations.
- Assist with regulatory alignment for compliant payroll processing (taxes, legislation).
- Maintain payroll files and records, correspondence, and forms. Liaise with staff and management on payroll matters, employee entitlements, appointments, terminations, and leave.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Data Transformation Processes (DTPs), updating documentation as needed.
- Manage systems and documentation to ensure compliance with payroll records.
- Analyze and escalate issues/concerns to the Team Lead for prompt resolution.
- Comply with service-level agreements, processes, policies, and procedures.
- Assess issues, gathering documentation to resolve common and recurring problems.
- Participate in data gathering for SOX audit activities.
- Support process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with new staff induction, including training on payroll forms and processes.
- Stay updated on payroll-related legislation through research, subscriptions, and training.
- Provide timely and accurate payroll information and reports.
- Respond to employee support requests regarding payroll services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years' relevant experience.
- Extensive experience processing Canadian payroll, preferably with end-to-end experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
- Basic knowledge of HR processes.
- High-volume/high-headcount payroll processing experience.
- Experience with ADP Global View, Workday, Oracle, and ServiceNow Ticketing System (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Shift Schedule: Night Shift (9 PM to 6 AM)
